Early morning walkers and joggers in Echuca are having problems with the Eyre St bridge on frosty mornings. One walker who contacted the Riverine Herald labelled the bridge ``dangerous'' on frosty mornings.
The walker said the wooden approaches to the footbridge were slippery when there was a frost, saying it was difficult for people to stay on their feet.
Campaspe Shire Council's assets executive manager John Aujard said council was aware the bridge had been slippery on frosty mornings.
``We are looking at some proprietary products which may reduce the problem,'' Mr Aujard said.
``The bridge deck itself should be okay as it is expanded metal mesh.
``It is only the timber approach ramps, and although the grades are shallow to comply with DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) requirements, they still appear to be slippery when covered in frost.''
